Description

Based on an original new story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany, a new play by Jack Thorne, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is the eighth story in the Harry Potter series and the first official Harry Potter story to be presented on stage. The play received its world premiere in London’s West End on 30th July 2016.

It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn’t much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband and father of three school-age children.

While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places.

As usual, the characters are easily brought to life and the storyline is engaging. A moralistic tale of impetuous awkward youth versus mature & often assumptive adults; borne by a familiar world created by J K Rowling. I still think that it is incredibly expensive for such a short story. Enjoyed nonetheless.

I throughly enjoyed this, it was a well written screen play, at first I was sceptical about reading but due to a video on YouTube reading some of the information I wanted to see what this was all about, the whole idea was amazing a future of the books of the past now I'm reading them all again, thank you for bringing my 11 year old fantasy to life.

It's soooooo good. Even if it's a script. I prefer it like that. More easier to understand and gives idea of what's going on in the book

I didn't like the rehearsal as much as the actual story so it was a waste of money. I read the whole thing because i like the storyline and to get my moneys worth

I read all of the books in the lead up to reading the cursed child. I didn't know what to expect and after reading the first few pages I thought, this is going to be alright; however I was wrong. I can't begin to explain my relationship with this book but it is defiantly complicated. I want to love it cause it's HARRY POTTER and its Rowlings story but I wished I never read it and left Harry's future up to my own imagination. Rowling did write the story though and I had to read it cause this is what happens and I had to now. I think she should have left Harry's story in the 7th book and not created this predictable, corny plot line. Fair enough producing a new movie because it's before his time and things are different, but reading this is like meeting a completely different characters.
