We're all waiting to be found...

'The first book I read in 2017 - and if another as good comes along in the next 12 months, I'll eat my special gold reviewing spectacles' DAILY MAIL

Meet the 'Keeper of Lost Things'...
Once a celebrated author of short stories now in his twilight years, Anthony Peardew has spent half his life collecting lost objects, trying to atone for a promise broken many years before.

Realising he is running out of time, he leaves his house and all its lost treasures to his assistant Laura, the one person he can trust to fulfil his legacy and reunite the thousands of objects with their rightful owners.

But the final wishes of the 'Keeper of Lost Things' have unforeseen repercussions which trigger a most serendipitous series of encounters...

Coming in May 2018: Ruth Hogan's second novel A Beginner's Guide to Drowning

  • Almost there.

I liked the framework of the book, but I could put it down. Too many dogs, and the narrative swimming in cups( and pots ) of tea. Mostly, I didn't like the intrusion of haunting into the story. Some really creative metaphors/descriptions. Enjoyed the variety of characters enabled by the storyline, although got a bit confused in the middle.

It will be impossible to find new words to praise this oh-so-special and delight-full book because every possible compliment will already have been written. What I can say, though, is that had I not read a review for this book I would not have spent real pennies on buying it! So, if anyone ever suggests that reviews are not worth the paper/screen they are written on is hereby proved wrong.

A charming and compelling read. Almost comparable to a Russian doll with smaller stories intricately woven inside of each other. Brilliant !!

  • A glorious read.

This is a delightful, clever, subtle and thoughtful book. You will meet the wonderful Sunshine (dancing drone) and other well-written and believable characters, who populate a tale of love and heartache with moments of gentle humour. I haven't enjoyed a book as much since I first read "The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold a Fry" .
