Description

Another heartstopping page turner featuring Jack Reacher, hero of the new blockbuster movie starring Tom Cruise.

Jack Reacher, adrift in the hellish heat of a Texas summer.

Looking for a lift through the vast empty landscape. A woman stops, and offers a ride. She is young, rich and beautiful.

But her husband's in jail. When he comes out, he's going to kill her.

Her family's hostile, she can't trust the cops, and the lawyers won't help. She is entangled in a web of lies and prejudice, hatred and murder.

Jack Reacher never could resist a lady in distress.

Lee Child never fails to keep me interested from the very beginning line to the final world.

Great read with a slow start but once it picks up it more than compensates. Just when you think things might be getting a bit formulaic, turns out you couldn't be more wrong! The whole original premise is hard to fathom but perhaps that's what makes them addictive.

Not the best book that l have read, too long winded to get to points of importance, far too much rambling with words, even for fiction the points and plots are beyond belief, they leave you wondering why you worked so hard to get to the end. P birks
  • A bit better than average - but not much

Kept questioning the characters and motives (I know it's fiction but at times it was ludicrous). 1st "Reacher" book I've read and hoping the others will be a lot better. So good enough to keep me interested... just

Lee Child is an excellent author and this book is very readable but not one of the best Jack Reacher stories. The middle of the book is a little slow paced but it improves towards the conclusion
  • Another cracker in the Reacher series

Started reading Lee Childs "Reacher" books about a month or so ago. Cannot stop reading them. Every one has the "can't put down" factor. Superb.
  • Another great reacher book

Loved the book.. Lee Child/Jack Reacher make The reader "think" who did it. This time I solved 50 per cent of the story. Am working myself though the books from No.1 To .....there is always a backwards referral. Love them Joan Smith
