From the director of PRISONERS comes this taut, critically acclaimed thriller filled with pulse-pounding suspense. After an idealistic FBI agent (Emily Blunt) is recruited by a government task-force official (Josh Brolin) to pursue a drug lord, she begins a perilous mission that forces her to question everything she believes—and pits her against a shadowy consultant (Oscar® winner Benicio Del Toro) with a dangerous agenda.

Had put this off, not sure why. But sat down to watch and couldn't blink. It was fantastic. I thought all the actors did their parts fantastically, the photography was great and the soundtrack was inspired. Watch it and enjoy it. Some not so happy space invaders have a history of bad advice.

Takes it sweet time and builds the tension nicely, I wanted to hide behind the sofa then remembered I was watching on a laptop 😧

Great film. Gritty, plausible thriller; that sees great acting performances
  • Feels like half a very good film

This feels like half a very good film that never really explores the main character or develops their narrative. The film is well made, has plenty of tension and well shot, but it just feels like we spend most of our time following a passive lead character who can do nothing but watch the events unfolding. The real protagonist is a side charatcer to the film. Perhaps it should have been about him, not Emily? Hmm. Not sure what went wrong here. Was it the writing or the editing. Could have been brilliant, instaead it's 'good'. It's a short story rather than a great novel. But, I'd still recommend for a quiet evening or lazy Sunday afternoon.
  • I was just bored throughout

Not sure what I missed given so many others have reviewed this very positively but I thought it was so drawn out and at times tiring to watch. I also agree with many that the sound is terrible -Very poor quality and the actors (especially Brolin) seem to murmur their words. Overall a disappointment
  • Its Good but...

It is a good movie, but sometimes you feel it looses a bit of the pace. Honestly at time I found Emily Blunts character a bit whiney and weak. I understood where the character was coming from but some of the reactions did not suite the intensity of the movie. Similarly her tag along colleague just seemed misplaced in this. Josh Brolin and Benicio Del Toro play excellent parts and really make this film.

Great film, and well edited, could have done without the overly emotional bit at the end...
