As beautiful as it is heart-breaking, The Light Between Oceans features an incredible cast including Michael Fassbender, Alicia Vikander and Rachel Weisz. This breath-taking story is set to remind us all of the infinite power of love, the overwhelming fear of loss and the complexities of human nature that bind the two. When lighthouse keeper Tom Sherbourne (Michael Fassbender) and his adored wife Isabel (Alicia Vikander) discover a baby adrift in a boat off the remote coast off Western Australia, they must make a choice. When they decide to raise the child as their own, the shattering consequences of this choice will change their lives forever.

This film is amazing and so beautifully told. I am registered blind and I used audio description I found it really useful. I rented this film for 99p and now I'm going to buy it. I would definitely recommend watching it.

Lovely story, beautiful setting. No problem with the sound like others reviewed. Very emotional. What where they thinking, keeping the child? Poor little girl.
  • Sunday afternoon

Nice Sunday afternoon movie. Bit slow and not a huge story line but it is still worth renting. Good acting - tear jerker at the end. The child actress is amazing - some serious talent there and I'm sure we will see lots more of her in the future.

  • Disappointing.

I had read the book which is very good. The movie is incredibly dull and slow moving. The dialogue is on several occasions inaudible with the sound of the ocean (lovely) and simultaneous music (not lovely). A huge disappointment.

Can't think of a movie in recent years to pull so hard on the heart strings. Compelling, unpredictable, beautifully framed and wonderfully acted.
