  • Forgettable.

Music average. Acting average. Storyline average. A very average film.
  • What is the hype!?

    By Wee peggylexy
A barely there story random bursts of singing and dancing that don’t really have much to do with the story, no emotion, no love for the characters who in crazy stupid love were likeable. I found it depressing actually. The point goes for the 1940s style of cinematography but other than that thought this was rubbish!

Amazingly emotional with all the feels but sometimes could be a little cringe
  • Nauseating

The characters are self-absorbed and shallow. His piano skills are unconvincing. I could not even finish the movie, wish I could get my money back.
  • Superb!

Beautiful in every way. Superbly written, directed, and acted. Wonderful musical score. And the final 10 minutes had such a surprisingly emotional weight it brings a tear to my eye. Not only is the movie about dreams, it's also about regret. Can't fault it at all.

I rented this movie to watch for the weekend and it is a must see! The songs will stick in your head for a long time and the movie itself was just awesome! I love it!

  • Disappointedly not for us

We Normally love musical movies and having read all the rave reviews we were expecting to settle down and be totally immersed with this one, sadly the movie was not for us, so much so that we pressed the stop button well before the end.

    Just bad film
  • Not bad..

This wasn't a bad movie, I wasn't expecting to find it watchable but it was! It certainly wasn't deserving of an Oscar win, as there really isn't much to the story. It's about a relationship, set against the backdrop of Hollywood but the relationship isn't fleshed out at all or the characters given much to work with. When you take away the pizazz there's a very flimsy storyline underneath. Don't expect much if you watch it.
