The incredible untold true story of Katherine Johnson (Taraji P. Henson), Dorothy Vaughan (Octavia Spencer) & Mary Jackson (Janelle Monae)—brilliant African-American women working at NASA, who served as the brains behind one of the greatest operations in history: the launch of astronaut John Glenn into orbit. Poor script Badly framed Badly edited Wooden acting Corny beyond belief What next? A film about a few cashiers at Asda who contributed profit that made Walmart take over? Geesh.

A great ensemble piece which is very well researched and only occasionally schmaltzy

I can not believe I did not know about this story! An incredible film, which should be watched by everybody. I found myself experiencing a range of emotions throughout, it is truly inspiring to see these intelligent black women show just what they are capable of.

I don't know how accurately the film portrays the actual events, but that hardly matters. This is not a documentary. This is a presentation of how courage, tenacity and dignity overcomes bone-headed bigotry. It is shameful that it has taken so long for this inspiring story to be told. Even if a little simplistic at times, the story is told well, acted beautifully and moved me to tears. It is a must-see for anyone who aspires to being a mature human being.

Wasn't sure what to expect but I found this to be a riveting film with wonderful cast performances from all. Superb story, scary to think how black people were treated. Absolutely stand out performances by Octavia Spencer and Taraji P Henson. Great to see Kevin Costner too.
