Description

Mike Regan (Pierce Brosnan) is a successful, self-made man who has it all: a gorgeous wife, a beautiful teenage daughter and a sleek, state-of-the-art smart home. But he soon finds himself in a deadly, high-stakes game of cat-and-mouse when his I.T. consultant, Ed (James Frecheville), starts using his skills to stalk Mike's daughter and endanger his family, his business, and his life. In a world where there is no privacy, and personal secrets can go viral by the click of a mouse, Mike needs to rely on his old connections to defeat a new kind of nemesis. From director John Moore (A Good Day to Die Hard, Max Payne) and starring an award winning cast, including Golden Globe nominated Pierce Brosnan (James Bond, No Escape) and Anna Friel (Limitless, London Boulevard) as well as Stefanie Scott (Insidious: Chapter 3) and James Frecheville (The Drop, Animal Kingdom).

A seemingly good idea for a plot but very poorly done
  • A poor modern take on Cape Fear

The trailer suggests a tight, tense movie. It fails to meet expectations. There are parallels with Cape Fear, inlcuding fasination with coming of age teenager and her family by a creepy guy, helping out, the closing scene feaaturing rain. Movue gets off to a bad start with Brosan's accent, playing a hard man - that lacks credibility. Negative reviews at time of US release are fair. The story is disjointed. Rent, don't buy.

not worth watching what a waste of time and money to see people acting so badly and this includes Pierce Brosnan so unnatural

The end was anti-climactic. They just didn't know where to take it. Pity. Almost a good movie.
  • Disappointing

Somehow the story lacked credibility in that the events which unfold suggest that the intelligence of the main character is nowhere near what would be required to operate the type of business which is central to the story. Glad I only rented rather than bought it I certainly wouldn't watch it again!👎🏻
  • Pretty second rate

So many plot holes it should be called "Swiss Cheese". A really poor script and dreadful characterisation. The "brilliant" business man played by Brosnan makes so many idiotic decisions that I ended up groaning out loud. The caricature bad guy is cartoonish and the entire plot really very silly. The only bright spot is Anna Friel who is as sizzling hot as ever. Don't bother spending money on this very second rate thriller
  • Enjoyable if a bit dated

Huge Brosnan fan, so enjoyed this (rather old-school) thriller where the confident rich businessman finds himself at the mercy of a creepy I.T. geek who turns the tables on his personal cyber-security.
