When I was in the cinema and saw this I noticed how the locations such as "ST. MARTIN, CARIBBEAN" at 13:45 minutes into the movie were displayed on screen with the correct font and theme to match the Pirates of the Caribbean logo, but as I watched this on Apple TV, I noticed that the same location at 13:45 appeared as plain white text with plain font in a box just as bad subtitles are displayed. Whose bad idea was this?! It's horrible. Looks like a refund needs to be requested. The Blu-Ray version is also correct, just like the theatrical version.

If you have watched all the films before, this one is in keeping of rest and has all the same ingredients. If it’s not to your taste, them the others won’t be either. Good family entertainment, lovely cgi. Good value for a HD download, compared to a HD disc and on the new 4k Apple TV it delivers well. Sounds spread and effects are very good through 7.1 Amp Note though, I can increase the size of the letterbox screen to fill out the film to the full size of my TV. Not everybody likes the letterbox size so be warned, though most films have this format.

Very average film. The first of the series is still the best.

After last part I was disappointed but this one is backing everything what I loved. It’s fun, got atmosphere and a lot good small bits.. worth to watch. I recommend.
  • Not worth 5 stars!

This is the weakest Pirates of the Caribbean. It's completely different from the rest because: 1) Captain Jack is like a bumbling clown in this one. In the others, he was on top of the situation. In this one, he's a figure of pity rather than command. 2) The jokes fall flat. 3) The supporting cast are not quite up to it. It's a pity becauase a lot of money must have gone into the special effects. The CGI is really the star of the show, but it's not worth watching for that because points 1, 2 and 3 pull you out of immersion all the time.
  • Awful.
