Vincent Willem van Gogh is undoubtedly one of the most famous and influential figures in the history of Western art. Yet during his lifetime Vincent struggled with poverty and depression, dying at only 37 years old. Loving Vincent, a masterpiece hand-painted in his own style, takes a look into the life of this incredible artist.

  • So beautiful and unique

I could watch this film over and over. Everything just melds together so gently and I really get that feeling of being there. The cinematography and style of the film is obviously beautiful. I would recommend anyone watching it.

Have waited so long to see this and worth the wait. What a wonderful change from the world of CGI that has corrupted the world of animation.

  • I heartily agree with other reviewers!

Not only an artistic masterpiece (which would seem enough in and of itself) but an intricate and unbiased reconstruction of events that occurred very cleverly woven into an extremely watchable film. Truly great in every way. I too shed a tear at the end and rightly so. So very sad, and ultimately an inspiration..
  • Every frame is a masterpiece!

Not only was 'Vincent' a genius, but the animators for this film are pretty close too! A superb and personal approach that cleverly looks at explaining the complexity of his death and life, and I'm sure he'd be fascinated by what has been created here. The art of art imitating art! Loved it.

  • A wondrous masterpiece.

This film is stunning bot visually and emotionally. The characters are so vivid even though they are made in oil pastels. I recommend this film to everyone even if they don’t like art.
  • Amazing animation

This is an amazing animation, given that every frame is actually a hand-made painting. Unfortunately the film itself isn't exactly brilliant. Don't get me wrong, it's a decent film that investigates the circumstances of van Gogh's death, but it just doesn't live up to the effort that went into the animation. I'd recommend it to anyone though, purely for the visual spectacle!

Engaging movie with paintings serve as critical method of story telling. Genius!
