Description

A mysterious wormhole appears above our planet before strange objects are emitted out of it and hover above each city across the world. This global event soon prompts a one of a kind mission in space exploration history - to send the next generation of astronauts, known as Human 2. 0's into the wormhole with the hope of finding out why those objects are here. When the astronauts return sooner than expected, their memories contain experiences on the other side of the wormhole which will change the future of humanity as we know it.

Reviews

  • Shame, it could have been so much better.

From the start, this film is more about talking than action, such a shame as the plot had real potential. The characters are created using an interview style production which quite honestly does not work well, it’s too slow and cumbersome. When you think that all will become clear, you’re dumped back onto Earth and the ending is a shambles, cobbled together ideas that fail to impress. Not worth the rental fee, move on to something else with more direction.

This must be the worst film ever commissioned, it should only be viewed if one is in need of a near death experience... strongly ill advised !
  • Unsteady Cam

This appears to have been filmed throughout using the so called Steadycam. And for me it was unwatchable for that reason However my wife did watch the whole film and thought It quite good.

Absolutely awful. Poor acting, low budget, ridiculous concept. Do not waste your money on this film.

The release of the 'The Beyond' has proven that blockbuster ideas are not the dominium of big name studios. When people review this film they have to view it in the context of how it was made. With a fraction of the budget available compared to that of mainstream Hollywood movies, director Haz Dulull has produced a masterwork of science fiction filled with great drama, visual effects and thought provoking ideas. The fact that this film can draw comparisons to titles such as Interstellar, Contact and District 9 is a testament to Haz's epic imagination!

It had some good moments. The special fx were good in places; the cinematography was at times interesting and engaging. The basic ideas behind the plot could have resulted in an entertaining 90 minutes. Instead what we got was faux realism wrapped in a pretend documentary. It was a series of often semi-coherent talking heads who were supposed to be experts in their fields. But in reality they were just mouthing dribble that bore little relationship to any science. A ten year-old could have produced a better, more plausible script. I was left the impression that whoever ‘wrote’ it must have worked in HR; that was the only expertise the film managed to convey. Deeply disappointing.
