Award-winning actress Frances McDormand (Fargo) delivers a stunningly powerful performance in this darkly comic drama that has been hailed as one of the year’s best films. A murdered girl’s defiant mother (McDormand) boldly paints three local signs with a controversial message, igniting a furious battle with a volatile cop (Sam Rockwell) and the town’s revered chief of police (Woody Harrelson)

Feel a bit underwhelmed watching this.
  • Great Writing and a non cliche movie

Tight script meant an easy road map for the actors’ characters . Entertaining, dark comedy thriller. More European than American. However a good critique of the US police. Peter Dinage who was also In Bruges excellent support. Frances M excels. Would see again hence not minding the price tag.
  • Best film this year.

  • Brilliant movie and Short film

Great film, abit light on extras but the 2005 “Six Shooter” short film makes up for it, is brilliant, very dark humour.

It’s a serious subject but is written like a dark comedy but it’s not that funny and becomes tedious.

  • When a brilliant cast meets an inspired director with a great script...

What can be said that hasn’t already been said? It is a truly wonderful film, deserving of the praise it has been awarded. The supporting, as well as the main, cast help lift this film past what it might be under other directors. The story is both heart breaking and viciously funny in how it deals with a very particular type of grief and the film is all the more for it.
  • Hands down one of the best films of the year
