Description

From Academy Award winner Alexander Payne (The Descendants, Nebraska) comes the hilarious film that delivers big comedy... and small Matt Damon. When scientists find a way to shrink humans to five inches tall, Paul Safranek (Academy Award winner Matt Damon) and his wife Audrey (Kristen Wiig) decide to ditch their stressed out lives in order to get small and live large in a luxurious downsized community. Filled with life-changing adventures and endless possibilities, Leisureland offers more than riches, as Paul discovers a whole new world and realizes that we are meant for something bigger. Academy Award winner Christoph Waltz (Django Unchained) also stars in this tremendously entertaining and original film.

Ignore the naysayers, if you’re open minded and have an attention span, you should enjoy
  • Starts good and then goes very BAD

First section (just under an hour) is interesting and funny. Then it turns into a completely different film with a boring plot, ridiculous dialogue, incomprehensible accents and bad acting. You end up feeling cheated, like they used the first half to trick you into watching a boring sermon in the second half. A great idea completely wasted. Watch it up until the scene where Matt Damon and Kristen Wiig talk on the telephone and then switch it off.

Having read previous reviews, it was obvious this wasn’t a comedy. But with Matt Damon, I thought it was worth a watch. £4.49, I can honestly say it was worth it. The film (for me) was thought provoking and I found myself stopping for few times to think “what if”. It’s not for everyone, but I’d recommend it and worth a watch.

Don't listen to the cynics who are only satisfied with getting their narrow expectations met. This is unconventional, but both funny and thought provoking. Great acting and a fabulous female lead. Honest relationships that make one think genuinely about the important things - both big and small!

This film is about 5 films in one, it is nothing like what the trailer makes it out to be, absolutely awful.
  • Surprising little film.

I was expecting a comedy based on the trailer but it turned out to be a interesting short story. Matt Damon Matt Damons his way through like all his movies but as he is only the axis for the tale to move around it doesn’t really matter. Not sure if I would have paid cinema price but definitely worth a rental.
  • No. Just no.

Misleading trailer. Not a comedy. Just a mess of a movie. Avoid this one like the plague !
