The amazing true story of Scottish Olympic runner, Eric Liddell, who was captured and tortured by the Japanese, during World War II. Despite being the fastest runner in the 1924 Olympics, Eric risked it all to be a missionary in China. Having spent his life teaching in schools, building relationships and winning medals, it all changed when the Japanese invaded in 1937. It wasn't long before the Japanese captured Liddell and several others and sent them away to a concentration camp. There, Liddell experienced a world of torture and cruelty. The prisoners quickly deteriorated, and Liddell was forced to resort to one final decision to ensure his survival and the survival of everyone else in the camp. Wings of Eagles is the sequel to the Academy Award® winning and acclaimed Chariots of Fire and stars Joseph Fiennes (TV’s The Handmaid’s Tale).

Very intersting story on Eric Liddell's later years.

Great to see Ralph Fiennes in a lead role following his return to form in The Handmaid's Tale. A great follow-up to Chariots of Fire also based on Eric Lidell's story.
