Gerard Butler (London has Fallen, Geostorm), Pablo Schreiber (Orange is the New Black, American Gods), O’Shea Jackson Jr. (Straight Outta Compton) and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson (Power, Southpaw) star in gritty action thriller Den Of Thieves. A notorious crew of bank robbers plan to pull off the ultimate heist - to steal $120 million in cash from the Federal Reserve Bank in downtown LA… right under the noses of the state’s most feared police unit.

Didn't expect too much from a familiar plot to many films before. Gave it a go. Well acted and clever story.

Thoroughly enjoyed this. Good pace, tense where necessary and a great twist at the end. Great work by the actors too.

Den of Thieves is best described as a “lite” version of Michael Mann’s Heat. It even throws in small, albeit obvious homages to Manns’ film that has astonishingly defined the mantle it sits upon since 1995. The cracks begin to show with the film utilising glossy pov shots of downtown LA relentlessly, which is undoubtedly Atlanta doubling for the simmering city of crime, and a second act that holds absolutely no weight whatsoever, as well as characters that are so incredibly disposable they’d break away with a drop of water. It starts well with a swelling chorus of action spectacle, but within the half-hour mark the electrical surge of energy in its opening scene has most definitely faded away to nothing, utter zilch. Den of Thieves is all bark and no bite, even when the “inevitable” final confrontation between characters that don’t really have any history or reasoning to despise each other lock horns, it’s all far too late. Although, one final twist occurs that took me by surprise, something I never saw coming, so credit where credit is deserved, albeit with a horrible accent. Also let’s stop giving Gerard Butler chances shall we? He’s far too gone by this point.
