Description

Decorated homicide detective Ray Archer (Al Pacino) partners with criminal profiler Will Ruiney (Karl Urban) to catch one of the city's notoriously vicious serial killers, who is playing a twisted version of murder inspired by the children's game Hangman. Every 24 hours, a body is hung revealing the next letter carved into the victim's body. As crime journalist Christi Davies (Brittany Snow) reports on the crime spree, the trio must race against the clock to prevent further murders. Archer and Ruiney become more entangled in the ruthless game than they could ever have imagined, but they must keep playing to save lives and attempt to catch the Hangman.

  • Lazy, unimaginative script with a totally rediculous plot

If like me you thought when seeing this "how did I miss this at the cinema?" your question will be answered within 10 minutes. Pacino and Urban must have made this as a favour to a friend providing that it would take no more than a week to film. Lazy, unimaginative script with a totally rediculous plot that had so many holes in that I stopped registering them after 30 minutes. Hard to believe that it was possible to make such a dreadful thriller movie with such a strong cast.

If your expecting some cerebral engagement with an old school serial killer cliff hanger .... well think again. The acting is reudemntary the attention to detail reprehensible and the plot is thinner than watery soup. Hugely disappointed as the cast line up would have suggested a professional slick production. SERIOUSLY do not waste your money!
  • Watchable but not a classic.

This isn’t a bad movie but by the same token it was not a great movie that you will come back to. Some of the acting lacked emotion and the general film felt like it should have been on TV. By that I mean it felt a cheap production and felt like I was watching a longer episode of CSI.

Really good old school thriller starring Al Pachino. 4 1/2 out of 5.
