DRIVE is the story of a Hollywood stunt driver by day (Ryan Gosling), a loner by nature, who moonlights as a top-notch getaway driver-for-hire in the criminal underworld. He finds himself a target for some of LA's most dangerous men after agreeing to aid the husband of his beautiful neighbour, Irene (Carey Mulligan). When the job goes dangerously awry, the only way he can keep Irene and her son alive is to do what he does best—Drive!

  • Please wake me up when it's over !

Taste is very subjective but I just can not believe the amount of people who genuinely liked this movie. For me, this has to be the most boring movie I have ever had the misfortune of watching. There is somewhere in the region of ten minutes of dialogue in the whole film. Ryan Gosling plays every scene in this strong but silent type, a guy who smiles by turning the corners of his mouth up by no more than half a millimetre or he won't look tough enough. The cinematograph is good but that’s not enough for me; the story goes absolutely nowhere, the dialogue is next to none existent and Rylan Gosling is so wooden you would find a giant sheet of plywood more expressive. "Hay you wanna tooth pick ?" Yes two please Ryan and ram them both deeply into my eyeballs so I can't ever watch you act again!
  • Slow paced and brutal violence

Was expecting more of a thriller from the description. A very slow paced movie with some brutal scenes. Ryan Gosling is good but too many drawn out pauses for me.
  • Truly awful

Nothing to do with the pace or the big-name stars, just that the story is utterly pointless. Lots of stylised action and music, some gratuitous and out-of-character violence, lots of loose ends. Waste of time and money.

One of the best movies ever. This is the first review I have posted on iTunes as I really want to share how good this is... Direction is fantastic, great cast and classic performances. Definitely the best movie Gosling has been in and superb soundtrack.

so. i havent seen it yet, but i really hope this film has come to the idea of the playstation game "driver" (the best game in the world). "only 1990s kid will know!"
  • Wow - best film ever?

This is one of the most beautiful pieces of film ever created and personally my favourite. Gosling gives an incredible performance and the love story that goes on throughout is fantastic. Accompanied by a brilliant soundtrack and stellar acting, it's quite the picture. The volume of words spoken really adds to the drama and I would highly recommend everyone who reads this to buy this film and watch it. You won't regret it. At all.
  • Still an awesome movie
