Description

From BAFTA and Oscar®-winning Writer and Director Martin McDonagh comes a star studded, blood- drenched, black comedy. Marty (Colin Farrell) is a struggling writer who dreams of finishing his screenplay, 'Seven Psychopaths'. All he needs is a little focus and inspiration. Billy (Sam Rockwell) is Marty's best friend, an unemployed actor and part time dog thief, who wants to help Marty by any means necessary. Hans (Christopher Walken) is Billy's partner in crime. A religious man with a violent past. Charlie (Woody Harrelson) is the psychopathic gangster whose beloved dog, Billy and Hans have just stolen. Charlie¹s unpredictable, extremely violent and wouldn't think twice about killing anyone and anything associated with the theft. Marty is going to get all the focus and inspiration he needs, just as long as he lives to tell the tale.

This movie is definitely a MUST BUY! Loved the script, which was delivered in a brilliantly clever manner, by an all-star cast consisting of Woody Harrelson, Willem Defoe, Sam Rockwell, and Collin Farrell. Masterly directed to perfection!

I can't think of a better film I've seen in the last two years, which is as far back as my memory serves me. Excellently written, with great actors. No idea what the negative response is about, will be recommending this to everyone and their mother, including my own.
  • Walken is the best thing in this

otherwise not very funny and pretty dull- watch it for Walken’s star turn as usual
  • Darkly funny

This was a great film- darkly funny, unexpectedly philosophical, the violence was a vehicle rather than being a gory spectacle. Great performances from the 3 lead characters. Would thoroughly recommend.

Brilliant dialogue. Top notch acting - a joy to watch these actors on form. A darkly comic and politically sophisticated script. Best film I've seen for a while and certainly the most original.

Really wanted to like this but it just didn't click. Rent it rather than buy. Don't buy it for the lads coming round like I did :)
  • Self Indulgent

If you want dark comedy, watch In Bruges which is wonderful. This is self indulgent, "Am I so clever" dross. How you can make a bad movie despite the talents of Christopher Walken (who is good in this) and the legendary Tom Waits in one movie is criminal. Dire.

Difficult to say just how bad this is. Wannabe Tarantino script fails miserably. Not funny. Stereotyped to the hilt. Dull. Gruesome without cause, empty, disjointed, tired, deeply unsatisfying. I only watched to the end as I was trapped on a plane and had downloaded it to my iPad. Consensus amongst my friends was that I was the only one who watched to the end. Everyone else just switched off. Avoid.
