Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer star in The Lone Ranger, from Jerry Bruckheimer Films and Director Gore Verbinski. It’s a wild ride of high-velocity action, explosions and gunfights that brings the famed masked legend to life through brand-new eyes. The Lone Ranger (Hammer), the last of his kind, teams with Tonto (Depp), a dark and mysterious vigilante, to seek vengeance after justice has failed them. It’s a runaway train of epic surprises, as these two unlikely heroes must learn to work together before the ultimate showdown between good and evil explodes.

  • An Amusing Romp

    By AnnieCYa
This is an amusing romp of a film, an entertaining story that pulls on the heartstrings. I’d give it 3.5 stars but iTunes doesn’t do half stars. It’s not a terrible film as the critics suggested!

  • Great fun

Enjoyable not-very serious action - a bit like Depp's Pirates films.
  • Very disappointing.

    By Credit Judge
Having read mixed reviews on this film, I decided to purchase it and make up my own mind. The experience of watching it was almost painful. Johnny Depp is a good actor, but this film did him no favours at all.

  • Absolutely great fun!

This was the film choice of the night for my 15yr old son and I - Tonto, Kemosabe and High Ho Silver, Away! You’ll never listen to the William Tell Overture again in the same way. Very funny and if you’re old enough to remember the original TV series be prepared for questions from the new generation.
  • Good family film

Sat down with the family on a wet Saturday night to watch this. We were not disappointed and the film was enjoyed by all. My son said he would like to see more action but I think the film had the right balance of action and adventure.

As not a lover of cowboy films I was a bit reluctant to watch but very glad I did, really enjoyed it, very good indeed
  • Great Disney Western

Why do people pan this movie - I listened to the critics and missed out on a cinema treat , this movie is tongue'n check yet still very dark in places the CGI in my opinion is fantastic.Depp steals every scene he is in and displays great chemistry with Hamer. For some reason cowboy movies just don't work at the moment with movie fans and critics alike , even when u throw in aliens and Harrison ford. This Lone Ranger really deserves a sequel - it won't get one now which is a shame as it sets out and succeeds in making you want more.
  • What's not to like?

    By Pleasure Principle
Yes this is Pirates meets the Wild West but who cares, Mr Depp is at his unique best, it's lavish over cgi'd but what a romp of a movie. Very funny in places but a warning to parents does contain some pretty gruesome scenes and plenty of death. Overall if you take it for what it is and liked the first POTC film you should love this. great for a rainy day indoors or just Depp lovers..... Don't expect any kind of historical accuracy or anyone or anything to obey the laws of physics or nature, as far fetched as Star Wars but very very entertaining.
