A former hotshot lawyer, now in recovery from alcoholism and estranged from her family, must take on the case of a young woman wrongfully convicted of murder in order to regain the trust of her peers and above all else, custody of her daughter. The case will challenge everything she vowed to uphold, as she is thrown into a world of lies, violence and deception, where fighting for what’s right may mean fighting for her life. Kate Beckinsale (Pearl Harbor, Underworld, Total Recall) stars in this intelligent and tense thriller with powerful supporting performances from Nick Nolte (Gangster Squad, Warrior) James Cromwell (The Green Mile, The Artist, Spider-Man 3) and Anna Anissimova (The Whistleblower).

  • Foul Language

Why can't they make films without foul language. If foul language offends then don't watch. Turned it off after 20 minutes. Left a bad taste.
  • A good legal and relationship drama

I really enjoyed this and have rented it more than once. It's a good story, well acted and well told.
  • Best Kate Beckinsale film I've ever seen

Usually hate the actress Kate Beckinsale films as they fail to impress me but having read the reviews and seen the of this I thought I'd rent it for 99p. Absolutely brilliant!! Fully gripped the whole way with the character and subplots. Nick Nolte even put out a grand appearance. Definitely worth a watch. Five stars for action...intelligence...focused..emotional and twist .i loved it

This was a good court room drama, well worth watching. A bargain for 99p. Give it a go.
  • Beckinsale Does it Again

    By Seogail
Loved this film. You could see the ending coming but there were enough plot twists to still keep you guessing. The film's best feature is Beckinsale's brilliant acting, she really carries the plot from start to finish and wonderfully she does it too.
  • Engaging and Smart

Quite a good film, there are some problems with Kate Beckinsale. She’s a very good actress but not a great one. However the script is good, Nick Nolte is fantastic. Would recommend for rainy day viewing!
  • Don't get it twisted...

...I don't actually hate it but needed to bring the average rating down; it's more realistically a 3 star. It had all the right ingredients, an interesting plot, emotional backstory, notorious actors, but the reality was that for me, it was empty. Which is strange, given that the theme is so emotive, but true all the same. Shame.

Kate beckinsale takes a good lead role in this deep, moody, slow burning film. There's not much of a sub plot going on, and by the halfway point you can see how it's all going to end. That said, this is a good watchable film that draws you in. Worth a watch in HD at 99p. Thanks iTunes.
  • Breathtaking!

How did this movie slip under the net? Beckinsale's performance alone warrants 5 stars. This gripping courtroom drama had me captivated throughout. There were lessons to be learnt in the mistakes we make in life. And never to trust anyone. Simply breathtaking!
