BAFTA nominated actor James Nesbitt plays Detective Inspector Harry Clayton, a brilliant but troubled cop and a compulsive gambler who is in danger of losing the thing he values most; his family. One night at the casino as he's approaching rock bottom, Harry meets the beautiful and enigmatic Eve (Sienna Guillory) who gives him a mysterious bracelet said to endow the wearer with immense luck. To his surprise this lucky charm seems to work and Harry sees his fortunes begin to shift. But this kind of luck comes with a price and soon Harry finds himself right at the sinister heart of a crime wave sweeping through London. With luck on his side he sets himself against the dark forces circling, while investigating a series of murders that may or may not be linked, but will it be enough to save himself and his family? Lucky Man is a story about luck, fate, gambling, superstition and the consequences of our actions.

Best show in this genre I've seen in a long time. Jimmy Nesbit is outstanding. Watched the first episode for free & couldn't resist buying the series. Roll on season two.
  • Lucky man - cracking series

Really enjoyed this. First episode pulls you right in and there is no turning back. James Nesbit is very good as is the rest of the cast. Looking forward to second series, I hope.
  • A bit all over the place

Not bad, a bit like those Lou Grade things of the sixties and seventies. Some awful plots and dialogue, redeemed by (mostly) likeable actors. But why would Stan Lee stick his name on this? Nothing like his usual territory.

OUTSTANDING, what a great roller coaster of a drama. good casting, great scripts, good acting, enough edge of your seats moments to bring a huge intake of breath at times. This is worth your money. very good and unusual in terms of a drama. confirmed for season 2 also. which means this is worthy of investing your time.
