I've always loved ELO and their music. Favourite songs are Mr Blue Sky and Sweet Talkin' Woman - still classic after all these years. But like several of my fellow music listeners, the new version of Xanadu is pants! Hence the reason I gave this album 4 stars,

I can understand the casual fan wants all the hits on 1 CD and this gets close to doing that almost perfectly. However to be "all their biggest hits" (and to be honest most people buying this will not remember their music 1972-74 which was a very different sound), I would replace the following: Showdown, Mamamama Belle and Alright with Last Train To London, I'm Alive and Ticket To the Moon. I'd also replace Xanadu with the original. That said It's pretty good so not complaining and it's sold Gazillions. If You wanted to get a more comprehensive overview of ELO, the more expansive Essential ELO covers every Single they released including Twilight which is up there with the very best Jeff Lynne ever wrote and Don'T walk Aaway from the xanadu movie which you will probably remember when you hear it.
  • No Olivia Newton John

One of the greatest British bands of the 70's. Shame they aren't around anymore.
